Prime Minister Modi is set to unveil the Haryana segment of the renowned Dwarka Expressway, aimed at enhancing traffic management and reducing congestion along the National Highway-48, facilitating smoother connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 112 national highway projects across the nation, collectively valued at ₹1 lakh crore, during an event in Gurugram today. As per an official statement, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Haryana section of the significant Dwarka Expressway, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and alleviating congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on National Highway-48.
The Haryana segment of the Dwarka Expressway, spanning 19 kilometers and boasting eight lanes, has been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹4,100 crore. It encompasses two packages: a 10.2-kilometer stretch from Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and an 8.7-kilometer stretch from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula.Additionally, the Dwarka Expressway will offer direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
Among the other major projects to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister are the 9.6-kilometer-long six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) Package 3, spanning from Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka section in Delhi. In Uttar Pradesh, three packages of the Lucknow Ring Road, developed at a cost of about ₹4,600 crore, will be inaugurated. Furthermore, the Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of NH-16 in Andhra Pradesh, constructed at a cost of about ₹2,950 crore, will also be inaugurated.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Kiratpur-to-Nerchowk section of NH-21, consisting of two packages worth around ₹3,400 crore in Himachal Pradesh, and the Dobaspet-Heskote section, comprising two packages worth ₹2,750 crore in Karnataka. Additionally, 42 other projects worth ₹20,500 crore in different states across the country will be inaugurated.
Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for several major projects, including 14 packages of the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway, valued at ₹14,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh. In Karnataka, six packages of the Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section of NH-748A, totaling ₹8,000 crore, will also see their foundation stones laid. Haryana will witness the laying of foundation stones for three packages of the Shamli-Ambala Highway, amounting to ₹4,900 crore, while Punjab will witness the initiation of two packages of the Amritsar-Bathinda corridor, worth ₹3,800 crore.
“These projects are poised to significantly contribute towards the expansion of the national highway network, foster socio-economic growth, create job opportunities, and bolster trade and commerce in various regions across the country,” as per the statement.
